We interviewed Berna, a Turkish woman currently working for a Japanese IT company!

Berna studied Japanese for 11 months before coming to Japan, and her Japanese level is between N4 and N3. She doesn't seem to have much trouble speaking Japanese, but she still sometimes encounters situations where she can't read kanji, such as when shopping!

As it has only been two months since she arrived in Japan (at the time of the interview), there are still many things she is not yet used to, but she said that as long as you follow the rules properly, it won't be that difficult to get used to.

During the interview, Berna shared some advice about job interviews in Japan, so we'd like to share it with you!

POINT 1: Smile when you speak

POINT 2: Be able to talk specifically about projects you have been involved in and what you have learned

POINT 3: Be able to clearly answer why you want to work in Japan (show why you want to work in Japan and not in another country)

Please use this as a reference if you are considering finding work in Japan!

Thank you for the interview, Berna!
